Shekhar Gupta

Shekhar is an award-winning journalist, columnist, author & talk show host. He has reported on key events, including trouble in our Northeast, Operation Blue Star, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the first Gulf War from Baghdad, Sri Lanka's troubled decade of 1983-1993, and has done more than a dozen tours of duty in Pakistan.

Shailaja Bajpai
Dean
Shailaja has been a journalist for 40 years. She worked as a feature writer for The Indian Express, and has written a weekly TV column since 1987. In 2009, Shailaja branched out into media education as Director of the Express Institute of Media Studies. In addition to her work at ThePrint, she is Professor at IILM University, Gurgaon and Greater Noida.

Rama Lakshmi
Editor, Opinion and Ground Reports
An award-winning journalist, Rama was India correspondent for The Washington Post for 27 years. She won the American Society of News Editors Award in 2005 for her coverage of the tsunami disaster.

D.K. Singh

D.K. Singh has reported on national politics and governance for over 20 years for Japan's Mainichi Shimbun, Business Standard, The Indian Express and Hindustan Times.

Nisheeth Upadhyay

Nisheeth Upadhyay heads ThePrint's integrated editorial and social media team. He has previously overseen newspaper production and worked as the Homepage Editor for the web portal of Hindustan Times.

An alumni of AJK Mass Communication Research Centre at the Jamia Millia Islamia University, Janki has worked across television, print and digital media over the last 14 years.

Praveen Swami writes on security issues. He has previously worked as National Security Editor of The Indian Express, Resident Editor of The Hindu in New Delhi, and as Diplomatic Editor of The Daily Telegraph in London. Dr Swasti Rao is a geopolitical expert, commentator, and author, and ThePrint’s Consulting Editor (International and Strategic Affairs). She is an Associate Professor at the Jindal School of International Affairs, OP Jindal Global University, and a Non-Resident Fellow at Eastern Circles, Paris. She also hosts ThePrint WorldView, an in-depth discussion series on global strategic affairs, and Geopolitics with Swasti on ThePrint’s YouTube channel.

Praveen Jain

Praveen has, over the course of his long and illustrious career, covered a range of breaking stories in India and abroad. He has covered almost all the big events of the 80’s and 90’s — from the riots in Bhagalpur and Hashimpura to the Delhi pogrom in 1984; the demolition of the Babri Masjid and its rehearsal to the plague in Surat. Of late, Praveen has covered the unrest in Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370, documented the Covid pandemic and Manipur crisis.

A journalist for over 17 years, Snehesh has focused on security, intelligence, defence and foreign policy. His career spans print, broadcast and digital journalism. In 2013, Snehesh was sent by Press Trust of India to Pakistan as its correspondent, the youngest ever Indian journalist to be posted there.

Moushumi has over 20 years of experience as a journalist, writing on politics, policy and governance. In particular, she focuses on the social sector and infrastructure. She has previously worked with The Statesman and Hindustan Times.

Bhadra Sinha

Bhadra Sinha oversees legal coverage at ThePrint. Her body of work in 20+ years includes extensive reporting on a spectrum of cases, ranging from criminal to civil to constitutional issues. Bhadra has remained constant in her effort to highlight important legal issues affecting citizens. She has previously worked with The Indian Express, The Times of India and Hindustan Times.

TCA Sharad Raghavan

TCA Sharad Raghavan leads ThePrint’s economic, financial and business coverage. Prior to this, he was a Special Advisor directly reporting to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her personal office. He has been a journalist for 12 years, and worked for leading publications such as The Hindu, Financial Express, and HT Mint.

Manasi Phadke

Manasi has been working with ThePrint since October 2017. She is based in Mumbai and leads editorial operations in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. She has previously worked with the Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and Reuters. She enjoys working on data-based and investigative stories as well as deep-dive news features at the intersection of politics, policies and business.

Neelam Pandey

Neelam Pandey is a Delhi-based reporter with 17 years of experience. She covers politics and policy apart from writing on social issues with a focus on women and children. Neelam has a PhD from Jamia Millia Islamia on Feminist and Dalit Publishing Houses. She was also a part of The Economist newsroom as a 2015 Chevening Fellow, London. Neelam has previously worked with the Hindustan Times for 10 years.

Ananya reports on crime, terrorism, internal security, financial frauds and governance. She has over 10 years’ experience in journalism and has worked with The Indian Express and Hindustan Times. Ananya has covered important political and social developments, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, communal riots in northern India and the ongoing civil war in Manipur for which she was awarded the Danish Siddiqui Freedom award.
