Before this course, I had a very different view of journalism. Now, I see it as a craft that’s professional and highly structured. It has opened my eyes to the importance of constantly learning. It’s been a transformative experience for me.

TPSJ’s Intro to Journalism course was exactly what I was looking for. Learning about the structure of news reporting, approach to crafting narratives and cultivating sources was an invaluable experience.

The course was an eye-opener, and I say this despite studying Journalism and Mass Communication for 5 years. Professionalism and clarity of intent were drilled in to us. A lot has been added to my credibility by being associated with TPSJ.

The focus of journalism usually is mainstream politics. But ThePrint has dedicatedly reported on ‘obscure’ areas such as Science, Education, Films etc. Some of those brilliant minds were the faculty. It was a carefully curated line up of instructors and guest speakers showing the foresight and sheer brilliance of the whole team.

A key takeaway is that TPSJ often provides real-world assignments that give students the opportunity to practice and receive feedback on their work. Moreover, the course has enhanced my critical thinking and analytical skills.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course, especially the Politics & Elections module. I also had the pleasure of meeting many distinguished guests and learning from their experiences. One recommendation: Add Sports and Entertainment Journalism to the course.

The course was really good and designed to suit people from a non-journalism background as well. I loved the experience of those 2 hours on my weekends.

It’s a great programme for anyone who is ready to put in the hours and the effort. It requires us to think, to read, to pause, to internalise, and, of course, to write.

The TPSJ curriculum is thoughtfully designed to cover all facets of journalism such as writing, ground reports, photography, and video editing. I had a great experience.

Editors and reporters who conducted the sessions were magnanimous with their time, and sessions often overran the budgeted time. Overall, an overused word still describes this course very well — A MASTERCLASS!
